Title: The Book Thiefbookthiefco
Author: Markus Zusak
Genre: Historical Fiction, Drama
Page numbers: 576
Goodreads rating: 4.35

PLOT SYNOPSIS:
It’s just a small story really, about among other things: a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. . . .

Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak’s groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement before he is marched to Dachau.

This is an unforgettable story about the ability of books to feed the soul.

MY REVIEW:
Certainly one of the best book I have read so far. This is the first book about Holocaust era that I have read, in fact it’s one of the most unusual novels that I have read.

The thing I adored most about this story is the utter captivation of story-telling. Author not only tells us a beautiful story, but at the same time shows us the power and the impact that words can have. Our narrator, Death, made this story even more interesting with his descriptions and little spoilers.

The book centers around the experiences of a young girl in World War II, in nazi Germany. Eleven-year-old Liesel Meminger, in train on the way to her new foster family in Molching, lost her little brother and her Mama abandoned her to Continue reading

Happy first day of autumn! I must admit that the change of season and all that changes in nature gets me all excited! Aren’t you happy it’s autumn? I am! Summer definitely has its perks, but let’s look at the good parts of the new-come season. I love chilly autumn nights with hot coffee mug between my hands and favorite sweater hugging my body. Doesn’t this sounds good? It’s sounds awesome for me if I also read a book and hear the raindrops hitting the roof while I smell the fresh wet soil.

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the succesive Autumns. – George Eliot

Give me sweaters, scarves, boots and books before it gets really cold, and I am a happy girl. Are you getting ready for Autumn?

Chapter 1

I wake up in an empty room. I look around and see the glowing white clean sheets of the hospital which every woman secretly admires. It must be morning because the sunlight barely touches my bed with shy rays. Light slowly embraces the room and tiny tiny specks of dust slowly dance around like they’re celebrating morning.

My body is sore and my lungs hurt. Somebody must have found me immediately after I lost consciousness and brought me here. I don’t even care which hero or heroine saved me, if I haven’t died yet obviously I know I have bigger problems, and as I try to remember what happened exactly, all my memories from yesterday ambush my brain. My heart starts pounding in my chest, so dangerously, I just want it to stop. I don’t want to remember anything about yesterday.

I’m not scared about the situation nor am I trying to escape my thoughts. My only problem is that I don’t know what to do, what I’m going to say to the police officer. That I was in a car – which wasn’t mine nor his, because he picked me up from my house and told me that his car was at the shop – with my fiancé and we jumped off a cliff? “We are a crazy couple and we often do this kind of things, borrowed cars are Continue reading

Dark House
Title: Darkhouse
Author: Karina Halle
Series: Experiment In Terror #1
Genre: Horror, Fantasy, Paranormal
Page numbers: 346
Goodreads rating: 3.95

PLOT SYNOPSIS:
With all the vampire, werewolf and faerie books out there, it’s easy to become numb to all things supernatural. The antidote? Darkhouse introduces two real and unforgettable characters, Perry Palomino & Dex Foray, amateur ghost hunters who are “attractive, relatable and oddly heroic,” “flawed but loveable,” “slightly crazy” and just the most endearing pair to ever tackle the paranormal…just don’t call them normal.

Darkhouse is a thrilling and sexy new take on concepts like Supernatural and The X-Files, bringing a breath of fresh air to a genre that has been inundated with the dead.

***Darkhouse and the Experiment in Terror series is a horror/romance for mature audiences only. Readers who are easily offended by harsh language should think twice about reading it.***

MY REVIEW:
To begin with, this book is the first horror book I have ever read.

I liked this book, made me feel like I’m a part of the story and to mention that it’s really really creepy one. It was also fun, enjoyable and interesting.

Everything starts with Perry’s nightmares Continue reading

This book is very sad, is inspiring.

It’s a journey that it’s not just showing the life of a disabled person but also of the people who surrounds him.

Title: Gabriel’s Inferno
Series: Gabriel’s Inferno, #1
Genre: Romance
Page numbers: 545
Goodreads rating: 4.09

PLOT SYNOPSIS:
Enigmatic and sexy, Professor Gabriel Emerson is a well respected Dante specialist by day, but by night he devotes himself to an uninhibited life of pleasure. He uses his notorious good looks and sophisticated charm to gratify his every whim, but is secretly tortured by his dark past and consumed by the profound belief that he is beyond all hope of redemption. When the sweet and innocent Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student, his attraction and mysterious connection to her not only jeopardizes his career, but sends him on a journey in which his past and his present collide. An intriguing and sinful exploration of seduction, forbidden love and redemption, “Gabriel’s Inferno” is a captivating and wildly passionate tale of one man’s escape from his own personal hell as he tries to earn the impossible…forgiveness and love.
MY REVIEW:

This is a wonderful and innocent love story of two people with equally troubled pasts. It’s one of the most sensual stories I’ve ever come across. I still can’t believe a man wrote this awesomeness. Gabriel Emerson and Julia Mitchell are not suppose to be together, because of the teacher/student fraternization policy at their university, but they manage to overcome that along with some other obstacles as their relationship progresses.

As for the characters, Julia Mitchell is a young girl, sweet, smart, and even though she was ignored and emotionally abused in her past, she is self-conscious and kind.

Gabriel Emerson, our professor, is very hard for me at first. He’s rude, egotistical, ruthless, controlling, and basically is an ass. He went through various emotional transformation during the book, and this changed him alot.

The writing style was great, and even humorous at times. This story is about a beautiful, powerful and addicting journey.

The brown-eyed angel was weeping over the demon. The angel wept because she was grieved at the mere thought of someone hurting him.

Scars might heal and we might forget about them in time, but they’re permanent

You strip me bare. You see through everything. You are the only one who has ever known everything and still wanted me. Only you my beloved.

MY RATING: 5 stars

PROLOGUE

I can’t breathe. I open my eyes to darkness and I know I’m under water. To my left is the leather driver’s seat, I touch it with numb fingers. I try to find his body, but the seat is empty and all I find are several tiny pieces of broken glass.

I can barely see the ripped jeans with the blue silver-detailed designer sneakers on his feet swimming out of the car to the surface. “Don’t leave me” I want to say to him, but I can’t. I’m too scared to follow him and he knows this. He knows my weakness, he knows that the abyss and the dark deep water scare me, but I can’t believe he did this on purpose. My chest and lungs start feeling tense and tight, I’m transfixed, I have to get out of this car.

I used to love being on top of the highest buildings, jumping off with a parachute, feeling the power of my motorcycle under my body when I reached 250 km/h and I was aware that if I made a wrong move, no matter how insignificant, I would fall, but to be under water without an oxygen tank? This is unexpected. What can I do now? I try to move my body to the left seat near the window, maybe if I can get out of this car and swim, but I can’t…I…

I decided to write a prologue, so here it is! I hope you enjoy it! Please feel free to write a comment down below and let me know what you think.
